The given topic

in my pointofview has its own various dimensions but as usual I will take the one which is unique and of the mark too.
Actually college admission essay is a face, that student sends to the concerning management before his own real face.
In my article I will try to help the students in preparing their faces as beautiful as they can be naturally, but let me remind you that faces here I mean essays not real faces.
Things before you
I believe that there are something, which go before you wherever you want to go in your life, and top of that is, that these things do more then you do, after you reach their,
I know I am not clear here, so let me do it by myself, what I just claimed in the above paragraph is quiet simple. for example, we all know that if somebody wants to go for a job so before that he will make a resume for that specific job and then he will send that resume to that specific place, simply, this is the place for me to make myself clear, because as you just have seen in the above example that a person is still at home, who needs a job but his resume is representing him instead,
It means that really there are something’s, which go before a person.

So, same is the case with college admission essays, and
That is the main reason that why college admission essays should be representing their students as really as they are in their life and style too.
Make them seen what is hidden in you
I agree it’s a human nature that it really appeals a person, when somebody praises him or says nice words to him, but let me tell you this also that, some time truthiness do work for you, that’s why tell them that if you are a brilliant student so you are a slob too, as your mom always says about you.

Thoughts can be the real assets
Let them know about thoughts you have or the dreams you will bring along with you ( related to your study), because you will be the one, shortly, who will represent their collage indeed.
For example!
Isaac Newton was the greatest English mathematician of his generation. He laid the foundation for differential and integral calculus. His work on optics and gravitation make him one of the greatest scientists the world has known.
After reading about such a big personality I am sure that you people are impressed, but let me remind you and show you his school report, which was sent to his mother by his teacher that ‘Isaac is an 'idle' and 'inattentive' student.
So guys can you believe that a man, who is going to change the world, the one who is going to challenge the laws of ancient people, which was considered as sacred as bible, and the same man who is going to create routes for coming generations, was considered as ‘’idle’’ boy in his binging.
Yes its ridicules but that’s the truth and this is what I wanted to show you, means the real strength of thoughts, because we all know that these were his thoughts that made him so remarkable throughout his whole life.
So the college admission essay should be covering all these important things to be a perfect essay indeed.

after 6 years have spent I have studied at Higher Secondary Level

I am going to write an essay on College Admissions after 6 years have spent I have studied at Higher Secondary Level. In our country, College is meant for Higher Secondary Education only, some colleges also offer admissions in split Bachelors degree but they are named as Degree Colleges.
After completing my Secondary Education in my home village I was supposed to take admission in Higher Secondary Education in a good college. Taking admission was not a tough task rather choosing the subjects for far future was. This stage is tough for almost all of the students; as every student wish to take admission either in Engineering or Medical. My tendency was not towards any of them; I had to choose between Humanities Group and Computer Science group according to my interest.
The alternatives available were whether to choose Computer Science and get admission in not a very good college or choose Humanities Group and take admission in a first class College of our state, according to my Marks Obtained. After having a bird’s eye view of both subjects I opted for Humanities Group. The future plan was to do Bachelors, Masters, then M.Phill and PhD in Economics. But then after doing my Bachelors I opted for MBA as an emerging and relevant field to my previous studies.

up to 14 in numbers

I’ve visited many colleges and universities up to 14 in numbers in different cities over the past year for the admission in undergraduate engineering program major in Telecommunications. I was searching for a college or university where the study environment is really healthy for engineering studies, the management is well established which plays an important role in providing quality education, students are free to make research in their particular areas of interest as do I in telecommunications so my major emphasis is to search for an institute, college or university which provide students best possible facilities to make research and helps in grooming the students hidden capabilities which makes them a good competent professionals which in the future plays their role in country’s progress and development.
Keeping all these aspects as mentioned above in my mind I’ve decided to take admission in COMSATS Institute of Information And Technology, a large purpose built and state of the art campus spreading over a large area, fully equipped modern computer and engineering labs with above 1000 of students enrolled in different undergraduate engineering as well as business and finance programs too.
COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology offering undergraduate engineering programs in :
• Electrical
• Telecommunication
• Chemical
• Computer
• Architecture engineering.
So it’s a great opportunity for me to take admission here because it seems to supporting my views and thoughts.
During my visit to COMSATS I came across a healthy and great study environment, encouraging the upcoming future engineers to make their dreams into reality, making group discussions and discussing ideas with the faculty members there. I am really pleased to watch all this during my visit and this boosts up my aim to get in to an engineering institute of my choice.

This thing encourage me to take admission there which is a great feeling.

taking correct decision

Taking admission in a college or university is among one of the important matters of life regarding, taking correct decision in the appropriate program in the college, one’s future which helps in choosing a professional career which suits the interest of the person.
While taking admission in a college or university following considerations should be kept in mind:
• Keeping knowledge about the programs offered i-e whether they are offering the particular course or program in which one want to get admission
• About the faculty presently in the college
• About the previous result records
• About the laboratories i-e whether the required apparatus is available for practical work purposes
• About the libraries i-e whether the book record is updated according to current situations or not
• About the co-curricular activities which are being held in the college beside studies as these activities are very essential
The personal interest of the person matters a lot as well in the choice of a college or university.
Selection of college or university is indeed a very tough job because presently many colleges and universities are offering many programs but few of them are giving proper education and conveying the desired knowledge required. But this selection can be made easy If the above mentioned considerations are kept in mind and thinking on them seriously at the time of admissions. These helps in saving precious time and the loss of money as well of a student if by somehow the correct selection is not made.

deliberation as to the where, how much, and when do I start?
As a new or returning student, there are steps
to complete before you enroll in classes. One of them
being an assessment or placement test in the subjects of
English and Math. Once assessed, the results are used
for placement to jumpstart your success in College.

is the College Admission Essay. Anyone who has been away
for a time from College or general writing may find this
part a challenge. Recent students whose English writing skills
were not top notch in High School can take these hints
to write a winning essay.

Usually, at the time of testing, there are time limits
to complete all the test components in each subject. It can
require you to write an essay in as little as 40 minutes from
a choice of two specific topics. As well, there are minimum
requirements such as not less then two paragraphs and not
more than four or five pages.

College Admission Essays do vary from College to College and
can be Opinion or Narrative style essays so there is only
really a few ways to prepare. Keep in mind that
you are writing for an English Committee who will assess your
writing skills and performance. If it is an opinion essay,
how you proved a single point or thesis and followed that
idea from beginning to end is what they will look for. A
narrative piece would be a short story with a beginning,
middle and end, interesting, and not a copy of someone
else's' work.

In the opinion style essay, stay on topic. Use facts and
quotations that are accurate to present your argument in a
fresh and confident voice. Weave in to your writing events,
reasons, and examples. Organize the ideas on your topic and do
a quick prewrite or draft with an introduction, body, and conclusion.

Grammar and spelling is important as is tidy and readable. Don't wait
until the day
of the assessment test to realize you are weak in these areas.
Brushing up on these skills can make or break your College
Admission Essay. It's important enough for you to get to
College and success is determined by the degree of work you
put into it before the first day of class. You will know
how prepared you are for College life when you come to
write the College Admission Essay.

Even if there are challenges in a placement subject, you have
a fantastic time ahead of you. Don't give up! College is some of the
greatest fun I have ever had. The best of luck and may the College
Admission Essay be the easiest part of your assessment.

Things to keep in mind

A college admission essay is now a mandate in most colleges, schools or universities. These are used to evaluate a student and are one of the major criteria based on which an aspiring student is either given an opportunity to study in a particular institution or not. These essays are said to provide an insight into the aspirant’s mind, their character, their aims, ambitions and goals, the branch of study that they are interested in and the reasons for their interest, their intentions for opting to pursue their education in that particular institution, their future career-oriented aspirations, their ability to organize their thoughts into words, etc. You could say that a college admission essay serves to differentiate one aspiring student from another and provide a good means of selecting the most deserving candidate for admission to the course.

Therefore, when any aspiring student such as you put down your pen to write a college admission essay you must have the following in mind:

Always remember that the college admission essay should be descriptive enough to sketch a good picture of what and who you really are. The officials at the other end of the desk already have access to your examination scores and they would have obtained a fair idea of your capability to study. This essay is expected to portray something more about you, something that your regular test scores cannot tell them. So make use of this opportunity to show them who you are, how mature and worthy you are to

Do not give too many stories. Try to be precise at the same time provide maximum details about yourself. Before you start writing the final version of your college admission essay, note down all that you would want to convey to the officials at the educational institution. It is possible that you might have listed down all your accomplishments. You can re-look through this list and shortlist on what you would want to tell them. It is best to convey details on the challenges you have faced and how you overcame them. Such illustrations are the best bets for you to portray your strengths.

The next most important thing that you should remember while writing the college admission essay is to write it in a most positive manner. It does not mean that you should write about only good events in you life. What it means is that the attitude conveyed in the essay should be on a positive note. You can even relate how you gathered strength from a difficult period in your life. Also give the essay as lively a tone as possible. Adding good quotes or phrases that are apt for your illustrations will add more color to your essay and help to sustain the interest of the person perusing the same till the end.

The final step in writing the college admission essay is the way of presentation. Ensure that you use simple and elegant font with just the right spacing. Also check for grammatical and spelling errors. Also keep your essay as per the specifications provided by the institution such as number of words, fonts etc.

Despite of your college or school choice

choice (MBA or law school), you should always remember that admission essay writing is one of the most important papers in your life. College admission paper is the first vital step of admission process. It is only one aspect of the package of documents. It is in your hands to create an image of yourself and present it to the law admission committee. College admission topics may be different; there is no standard essay format. However, you should expect that admission essay topic will be related to your personal life experiences, your achievements, your plans for future, etc. If you have already chosen a college or university, I advise to read information given on their site very carefully. Be confident in your choice. At the official site you will find all necessary information about the college, courses, as well as you have an opportunity to read forums with very useful valuable advices. It is also true that now days it is quite difficult to take the admission in any choice of subject. The competition is very high and a lot of politics has also got involved in it. But if you want to become something and want to make your own status in your life, then it is just the beginning
Collage admissions essay should explain you, your experience in the life, your talent, and your personality. I can definitely say that every school wants accepts students who are able to learn and will not have problems with finding an employment after graduation. Why? The logic is clear – your success after graduation affects the ranking of the school. The better your employment is, the higher is the ranking of the school. Thus, think about your motivation and decide whether the chosen college can offer you what you seek. If you are confident, the commission officers will notice your hesitation. For example, if you want to become a teacher, while your parents emphasize law school admission, you should not even try to become a lawyer. Sure, it is possible to become a lawyer, however, it requires considerable efforts and a lot of talents. Regarding the long-term plans: when you finish your education you will have a school brand in your diploma. Therefore, the school officials seek a person who is confident in his long-term plans. Schools do not want to be ashamed of their graduates. Sure, while writing law collage admissions essay you should devote some space to your achievements and plans. You need to describe your plans, show motivation, and discuss how you plan to achieve your goals. I would love to learn what school official think about this. I think that schools want to be assured that if they make a proposal, you will accept it. The more people refuse to go to the school, the lower is the school rating. Therefore, while describing how the school can help you, it is important to show how much you know about it, and how much you want to enter it. College application essays are your chance to gain the interest of admission committee in your skills and individuality.

Highlight Your Innovative Skills

As it is getting tougher every year to get the admission to a college, students should prepare themselves for the admission process, well in advance. This will involve, among other things, the preparation for presenting college admission essays along with their applications to the colleges, short-listed by them.

However, as writing an excellent essay is very important for getting the desired admission, students must concentrate to devote some time on deciding the topic and the structure of this essay. Therefore, some of the guidelines given below will help the students to prepare well-organized essay, for this purpose.

• Churn your mental thought process

This is a part of the exercise to choose a topic for the essay. It is necessary that students select a topic that can highlight their imaginative and innovative skills, while describing other talents. Therefore, students must think of their major accomplishments, any characteristics that make them unique and different from others. The brainstorming exercise for writing such essay should include thinking about any personal traits that can help the society, any major achievements in extra-curricular activities, and the strong points of the students’ overall personality that they want to highlight in their college admission essays.

Since it is difficult to find answers to some of the above questions by students themselves, therefore they must consult their parents, friends and tutors to know how these outsiders see their personal traits.

• Topic selection

Students must choose a topic, which can synthesize the above given characteristics with their desire to attend a certain institution, while making the essay coherent with their strong deserving attributes. However, if the topic selection gets limited to the list of topics given in the essay assignment, then students should choose a topic that is familiar to them, as they can write on such topics with more confidence.

However, if the topic selection is left entirely to the students, they can think, of any vivid past experience, their firm opinion on any of the controversial social issues. For example, a real experience narration, followed by the student’s personal opinion on terminally ill patients and controversial issue of “right to die” can tell about writing skills of the student.

The topic for college admission essays should be neither too common nor much narrow, as students would required certain evidential support from other sources also for presenting their viewpoint.

• Totally avoid plagiarism

Students must try to show, what they have. There is no need to borrow ideas, for getting better grades. Selectors are experienced to detect such blunders. In any case, never cut and paste any text from the other sources, into your essay. Instead, it is better to get help from any reputed essay-writing company.

• Essay Structure

Once all above elements are ready, the final drafting of your essay will be very easy. However, all such essays should have a good, but brief introduction, which lures the reader to read whole paper. Essay body should follow this, which would have a well-organized text to substantiate your viewpoint and answer to topic question. Needless to mention, please re-check your college admission essays for any grammatical or spelling error. Conclude the essay with a summary of your viewpoint.

Here Are the Right Strategies

Applying to enter college as a freshman is now very much like launching an advertising and promotions campaign. The number of high school students who want to get the university degree that would make them competitive in the labor market has grown tremendously over the years. High school graduates have to exert all efforts to stand out to earn the admission officers’ nod. This is the stage when GPA or SAT scores and class grades have already been pretty well set, akin to product attributes that student applicants’ cannot improve on anymore. The only option to further bolster the chances of an enrolment is through the college admission essays which are tantamount to an ad copy encapsulating the product intangibles of an individual.

In these personal statements that are prerequisites to most college applications, the first idea that usually comes to the minds of the aspiring freshmen is to make themselves unique from the rest of the pack. This approach is good and workable. However, in this endeavor to present each individual’s unique selling proposition, equal attention must be paid to the specific desires of the institution to which the proposal is addressed. In other words, student applicants should make their aspirations tailor-fit to the goals of the school they are seeking admission to.

It is therefore essential for those writing college admission essays to first have a thorough research on the educational institution that they are eying for enrolment. What are its vision and mission? What are its norms and values? All of these are often expressed in the websites of colleges and universities, and are thus easily accessible. Another tactic that would help in gathering background information on a school is to consult some of its students, faculty members or even some of its admission staff. A student applicant’s network of friends and relatives should be able to contribute some key contacts in this kind of a background research.

With the keen competition for freshmen slots in major colleges and universities, high school students now often send several applications to several schools. In this scenario of multiple applications, it would be wise to craft a different essay for each application. Simply put, the college admission essays that a student applicant sends to different schools should not be a one-size-fits-all paper. If a shotgun approach for writing is adopted, it would be rather difficult or nearly impossible to highlight personal aspirations aligned with those of several educational institutions.

A personal essay in this case would be so full of clichés and motherhood statements that it is unlikely to stand out. Instead, it is likely to be dismissed as a mediocre piece by an author unworthy of consideration. It must be borne in mind that the academic goals of colleges and universities could vary widely. For instance, centers of learning with religious affiliations will have markedly different academic principles than the secular schools. Student applicants submitting college admission essays which adapt to the specific standards and values of these distinct institutions will have the better chances of making it to the freshmen’s roster of these schools.

What to do?

If You Application Should be Outstanding Between a Sea of Applications

College Admission Essay is the first step for a student to get admission into a college. It is important for a student to have a positive perception of the college in which they want admission as the applications often ask the reason for seeking admission in their college, while answering ‘college admission essay’. To answer above question the student must know about advantages and positive aspects of the college in which he/she wants admission. Experts opine that the students while answering the question regarding the college, they should mention the appealing features of the college and if possible they have to express the unique features of the institution. In the above sense the ‘college admission essay’ can be termed as the one that enables the management to understand the candidate applying for the admission. The important problem the applicants face is writing multiple essays for different colleges in which they seek admission. The above context arises, when there is enough competition in each college and student chooses the colleges in which there are the features they look for. Hence, in the above situation, the applicants should have enough knowledge about the colleges they approach for admission and express it in their ‘college admission essay’. Consequently, applicants have to understand that it is necessary to write different essays for various colleges they apply for. It is important to appreciate the college by comparison as well as pointing out its salient features. Moreover it is important to note that the applicant has to mention his major and how the college is useful in that particular area.
While writing about the applicant’s major and how the college atmosphere is useful for it, the important aspect is that the management should know from ‘college admission essay’ that the applicant has toured the college and gained enough information about it. Moreover, the writing of an admission essay is important for the student to express his qualities and meritorious attitude if he did not secure competitive rank in the qualifying exam. The ‘college admission essay’ gives an opportunity for applicant to present himself as a special candidate for the admission in the college. The importance of admission essay lies in the fact that the number of increase of seats in top colleges is not in proportion with the increase in number of admission seeking high school graduates. Hence, the ‘college admission essay’ plays a crucial role in securing admission amidst severe competition.
The next aspect in writing an admission essay is that the content should not be abstract and the applicant has to take care that it is as clear as possible. There should be evidence for the facts mentioned by the applicant. The applicant may mention about feature of the college or his own ambitions and attitudes, he/she should be in a manner to support them. Hence, a ‘college admission essay’ is a reflection of student’s understanding about the institution in which he/she is seeking admission as well as his capability to express him/herself.

Great Tips

So you’ve done all your homework and are gearing up for that admission to your favorite college. You have all the grades required and all the documents ready. Are you going to zip off that essay in about five minutes? Spare a thought. College essays are meant to gain an insight into you as a person. So, handle them with care. Here are a few pointers you might like to go through:

The Approach to the College Essay

• Make it unique- if you are asked to write about your favorite book or character, try to make it personalized. For instance, the college is not looking for an abstract description of the book. Highlight your favorite parts of the book and describe why you like them. This should give the examiners a good idea about you as a person, so take some care. Remember, the essay and the interview can be used to express your individuality very effectively.
• Having said that, there is no alternative to directions, so follow them carefully. Read the topic carefully and try to understand what the college essay is about. If an essay is about your favorite activity, its purpose is to understand what you enjoy doing when you are not studying. Focus on that and not on a narrative about your favorite team!
• Let’s take up another example. If you are asked to write about a tragedy, try and focus on your experiences about it and not on describing it in detail. The purpose of every college essay is to find out how well you write. It is not really about how tragic a life you have had!

The Layout of Your College Essay

• It is very important to think about the pattern you are going to follow when you are writing. The best way to go about it is to have an outline ready. You can even brainstorm and think about the topic at first. Focus on what you know about it. If you are not very sure, read up. There is no shortcut to anything in life, and this is no different.
• Follow directives about spacing, margins and style very carefully. If you are asked to use white paper, make sure you do that.
• Your opening sentence needs to be compelling, so pay a lot of attention to it.
• Make sure you check the essay thoroughly. Pay attention to spelling, punctuation and grammar. You could even ask a friend to read it aloud, so that you can spot problems with it.
• Your essay should always have a thesis statement, main statements and the transitions. Once you have this layout in place, your job will be much easier.
• Pay attention to details. If you are repeating words, make sure you replace them well.
A college essay is all about creating a balance between your individuality and the specifications required. Take some time out for it and give it the right attention

I almost felt like banging my head to the wall

wondering whether such a maneuver would prove to be effective. I was still staring at the piece of paper on my table, wondering whether the senseless doodles I have written will mysteriously transform into something lucid. I must have had made more than a dozen of opening statements, and yet none had seem to be it.
The dilemma on choosing an appropriate topic for a college admission essay plagues the college hopefuls perennially. Anyone who wants to earn a degree almost always starts off with an impasse.
I remember dreading writing mine a few years back. The anxiety seemed to have weighed me down much more, since I was applying for a degree which majored in Journalism, in one of the most revered University in the country.
The University did come up with a number of guidelines on the essay, but deciding the tone, specific topic and delivery was still a painstaking task. After all, my future was at stake.
When I had nothing to do, I was mentally drafting an essay – coming up with a few opening statements, which varied from time to time. Every time a phrase would come into mind, I would write them in the nearest available sheet of paper and stash them inside my bag for future reference. However, these exercises did not bring me much nearer to finishing the essay. I was deliberately procrastinating; I avoided the actual writing process as much as I could.
Never force something, this was my mantra which I have willingly applied to writing.
Needless to say, this mantra can only do so much. It certainly did not ensue any yogic vibe of relaxation. Scared that my impasse will turn into a deadlock, I have forced myself into writing, as the deadline is just a few days away.
I was writing, or more appropriately – doodling, for what seemed an eternity. I was scribbling absurdly and almost tempted to hit my head against the wall when my epiphany had finally come.
I remember being euphoric at that time. My mind finally came up with coherent ideas, while my hand gained the momentum to write something substantial and worthy of being called an essay. After a couple of hours or so, I was immensely satisfied. The draft was rough but sans the typographical errors – the content was satisfying.
After revising the essay and reviewing it for any error, I was finished and pleased. I have come up with an essay which wittingly, yet seriously, discussed my future path. I presented my plans in a casual tone, but did not sacrifice the scholarly value of the essay. I could confidently say this, as I have gone to that University, with the course I wanted, and went through my college years without much of major difficulty.
Tasked with a topic to discuss college admission essay, it was like I was sucked back into the black hole of my pre-college years. I found myself in an impasse, once again, tossing topics in my head from time to time. In reminiscence of that era, the epiphany did come later. The confidence I had before was still there – but just as any college hopeful, I still have to wait whether the “university” would still be as accommodating.

Even though educational institutions have mushroomed rapidly, some institutions continue to rank amongst the top few. These are the institutions that most students target and set their hearts on.
Along with the increase in the number of institutions, there has also been a rise in the number of students, which has made admission a tough prospect for them as well as the selection committee.
However, institutions have devised a method of selection into their colleges! Irrespective of the candidate’s performance and results in the qualifying examination, the college selection committee has found that college admission essays are a perfect tool to determining suitability of candidates for admission.
Writing an essay is one of the best forms of expression of one’s views or thoughts on a particular subject, as it brings out the uniqueness of the person and his or her approach to life at large.
It, therefore, becomes important for one to choose a subject carefully if one wishes to make the essay a compelling one to determine his selection. A poorly chosen topic might ruin his chances of selection, purely because of the inability of the applicant to ably handle a topic which does not appeal to him.
An admission committee looks at an applicant’s college admission essay from a number of aspects such as the interest of the candidate, his thinking process and vision, his approach to tackling a situation or subject, his attitudes and abilities, and most importantly a peep into the kind of person the candidate is. The committee looks for persons with mettle and perseverance, the values they will bring to the college and how best they will contribute to its reputation.
Some of the essay topics are likely to center round certain significant incidences in one’s life, while others may cover general topics. The former type of essay will be a better choice as it gives the candidate the perfect opportunity to focus and channelize the essay on himself. One can play up one’s strengths and attributes to one’s advantage, while acknowledging one’s weaknesses as well. This would also give an insight in to the many lessons learned from these situations and how one could use these to the best of their ability in future situations.
There are three essential steps to writing a college admission essay; the first step is to choose an appropriate topic which is appealing too. When the subject is of one’s interest, the content will naturally flow from the heart. This is sure to capture the attention of the selection committee who will find the candidate exceptional and deserving of admission
. The second step is the brainstorming stage to bring out the effect of the subject in all its totality; and the third step is the writing of the essay to make it powerful and striking.
A well written college admission essay brings out one’s true potential and highlights the accomplishments. It shows the kind of person one is; the aspirations and goals and the determination one has to be successful in what one has set out to do.

There are useful tips that one can follow when writing a college admission essay.

Tips for Writing College Admission Essays
Tips that an applicant can use when writing essays have proved to be very important in that they give students guidelines on how to write quality admission essays that might determine their admissions to colleges of their dreams. The tips one can use when writing common admission essays may vary.

The first tip that a student can use when writing an essay is how to reveal their character when writing an admission essay. As an applicant, your personality and character is very important and how you reveal it in your essay matters a lot. Your personality and character helps in identifying you as a person and these might come necessary even in extracurricular activities.

The other tip one should consider when writing a college admission essay is about the writing skills and these includes the punctuation marks, grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. These errors might look to you as very menial but the penalty one may pay for such simple mistakes can be very heavy. Your essay should not be too heavy and it is necessary to apply some sense of humor while writing your application but at the same time not to be too much with your humor.

When it comes to laying down your achievements and accomplishments, it is recommended to be very careful to do it in away that might not look like you are bragging on what you have achieved and accomplished as an applicant. Be precise and straight to the point while writing your essays and remember to balance what you are writing in your essays.

As an applicant when you are done with writing your college admission essay and you are not satisfied with it. It is always recommended to seek help from either a friend or a teacher who can help you go through it and help you in omitting what is unnecessary. The other thing you should do as an applicant is to make sure that you have edited your essay properly and proofread it for any grammatical errors.

THE HARD NUT TO CRACK

One of the most important questions that bother every 12th passed student is what to do next? This is the decisive moment of their lives. The decision which they take after passing their 12 board exam will stick with them all their lives. So this decision should be taken after a lot of research & thinking. All those students who score well in their boards rush to get admission into the best colleges/universities.

Choosing a college or university is a deep sense of responsibility, strength, dedication & willingness. Every student prefers better prospects & education system. But students who are unable to score well in exams loose heart. Instead of loosing heart they should prefer year back & try next year. But the trouble is the cut-offs, which increases every year & college admission essays have become cut-throat.

In Delhi, this year the first cut-off was 98.2%, which is high according to the last year. Students whose percentage is 80%, which is also considered as the first division, stands no chance in the battle. As a result, students doing equal hard work go into depssion, which also leads to suicides. A recent case in Noida in East Delhi, a seventeen year old girl who scored 58.8% in class 12th board exams, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her room on 30th of June. She was seeking admission in five of the colleges in DU but after the second cut-off she failed to qualify for most of them.

Now the position is going to be worst because of the racist attack in Australia. People who plan to study overseas will not migrate. They will prefer to study in their home country as in other countries they have life threat. So in the trial of admission in colleges the number of students will be more & the competition will be increased.

Earlier, unlike today students had to visit every college that they are seeking admission for & moreover they did not have time to visit each & every college in the city and fill forms. As a result, the cut-offs were not very high and students with low percentage could also get admission. But today because of common forms, every year cut-off is rising.

Every child has a unique blend of intelligence that is different from one another. On the basis of marks student’s intelligence can not be judged & they should not be rejected because of their marks in class 12th boards. But the system does not make any leeway for a second chance. It is absurd to make a single examination the certificate of student’s acumen. You are the luckiest one if you get admission in the desired college in your first essay.

Class 12th boards are the real do or die factor to get them into a college and opt for the stream of their choice. Sadly, the truth is that you know that your report cards testify your talents but unfortunately the system does not take them as a certification of your abilities. It is your board’s marks that make you who you are.

College Admission Essays is written by potential students as a part of the admission process to gain admission in the college. Thus the importance of these essays is very great from the point of view of the students as it may decide their future career. As far as the colleges are concerned, there is a great variety in the way they perceive the importance of these essays. Some colleges takes College Admission Essays seriously and as the benchmark for a good student while some colleges may consider it simply as a part of admission process and might not give much impetus to it. Generally Arts colleges give very great importance to these essays while considering the admission of students but this might not be the case always and whether to give much importance to College Admission Essays or not is at the sole jurisdiction of the colleges. Whatever the case may be, students must be very serious about these types of essays as it provides them a platform to showcase their talent and knowledge.
College Admission Essays can be of two types:-
1) Either the topic of the essay is provided by the college itself, or
2) The candidate can write the essay on any topic of his choice.
In the former case the topics generally asked include career aspirations, reasons to join the college, academic accomplishments etc.
As these essays play a vital role in deciding the future prospects of the students, proper care should be taken so as to make these essays as much fresh and eye-catching as possible. It should be borne in mind that the admission officer might be receiving thousands of College Admission Essays and so he would be looking for essays that are novel and fresh rather than the same story repeated umpteen times albeit in different ways. Thus careful planning is a must while writing these kinds of essays. It is a worthwhile idea to jot down main points which needs to be included in the essay before beginning to write the essay. Too much bragging about oneself is a strict no-no as it will make the authorities reject the essay, only outlining the main qualities and accomplishments of the candidate in the essay is sufficient, as the authorities also have the resume of the candidate to see and they can easily see the academic accomplishments of the candidate in it. It is always a better idea to divide the College Admission Essay into three parts viz. introduction, body of the essay and the conclusion. The introduction of the essay should convey the general idea of the essay, the body of the essay should contain the main subject matter and the conclusion should contain the summary and any concluding remarks. Also if possible a little bit of humour would be just appropriate to make the essay an out-and-out winning essay. But one should not go overboard with humour otherwise the essay would appear foolish instead of being eye-catching.
Thus a candidate must take every care that his essay is among the best so that he can get admission in the college of his choice and one should never downplay the importance of College Admission Essays.

The Importance of College Admission Essays in the Life of a Student

Our education system evaluates students on grammatical skills and use of language. College admission essays also help an institute in evaluating how cohesive a student is in enumerating his ideas, ascertaining what the student intends to gain by taking admission to a particular course of study and whether he is fit for the program or not. With this view in mind, educational institutes often ask students to write essays on a myriad of subjects and the most esoteric and obscure of topics. A student is expected to put pen to paper (or fingers to the keyboard) and rustle up an assorted conglomeration of facts or a palatable and well thought out concoction of idea-fact-imagination-points of view, as per requirement. College admission essay is an excellent tool to not only evaluate how good a person is with the language but also to understand how well informed and logical he is in his approach. It also allows the educational institutes to understand how capable a student is in expressing his views on a topical subject. The most common college admission essay is the “Statement of Purpose”, where a student is expected to explain clearly why he is interested in pursuing a certain course. A college admission essay can also be argumentative, descriptive, definitive, critical, narrative, informative, analytical or technical in nature.
Essay writing develops sensibilities, hones creativity, encourages lateral thinking, promotes freedom of expression and helps inculcate interests in areas that are not directly linked to one’s academics. Students also learn how to write concise and to-the-point essays to suit specific requirements-- such as summary writing. The process of essay writing makes a student aware of the importance of: correct usage of grammar, readability of the essay, accuracy of facts and proper presentation of ideas in addition to developing editing skills. A college admission essay is often a reflection of the writer’s personality and the way he interprets the world. When a student is writing a descriptive essay or a narrative essay-all his language skills and creativity are put to use, whereas when a student is writing a technical essay or an analysis essay all his analytical, quantitative and data interpretation skills are put to use. While writing a critical essay, a student is expected to develop enough expertise on a subject to be able to present a well thought out critique. An argumentative essay helps a student develop ideas to substantiate his thoughts and allows him to take a stand on a particular subject. Therefore it is apt to say that essay writing in general and writing college admission essays in particular helps students in more ways than one; and at the same time helps an institution to gauge an applicant’s capabilities. The ability to write well is often required in a person’s life--be it a sales report or a thesis; and a college admission essay ensures that a student understands the importance of writing skills very early in life. A college admission essay submitted by an applicant should never be judged in isolation-rather it should be judged in conjunction with the times that we live in and the socio-economic-political condition of the country at that point in time.

One might ask why write a college admission essay

The fact of the matter is, a student needs to have a specific purpose or goal when it comes to his or her future career. Thus, the admission essay indicates where the student is heading and where the student will be in the future. Also, it tells of the student’s past and what he or she has achieved thus far.

Firstly, let’s go into the content of the college admission essay. Here, the student will have to explain why he or she is suitable for education in that particular institution. This is because different colleges have different areas of concentrations or different programs that are offered. For instance, a college may have a program in Business but not necessarily one in the field of Communication. Therefore, the student should take this into consideration when writing the college admission essay.

Then, the student must be able to explain the fact that he or she is ready for college in the first place and why he or she is wants to go to college. The reasons that students give may vary, for example, they may say that they have successfully finished secondary school and wish to pursue higher education to better their chances of getting a job. Or, they may say that they have a particular interest in a subject and wish to have a better understanding of it and thus want to increase their knowledge in it.

The college admission essay is also a good chance for the student to present himself or herself in a good light. It also enables the student to create a good first impression with his or her lecturer, professor or teacher and of course the admissions committee.

The college admission essay is important nowadays because it is an indicator to how well the student will do once enrolled. A good college admission essay will contain information on what program the student wishes to enroll in, why the student has chosen this program, details about the student’s background, previous education and work experience as well as achievements in any particular area of life.

It should also include interests and hobbies as this will show the admissions committee that the student is active in extra-curricular activities and the student is brilliant in all aspects of life, other than studies. Most colleges encourage the student’s participation in these activities because they are an indicator than the student is dedicated, committed and dynamic.

Finally, the college admission essay is a blue print of success for the student. It tells of how diligent, intelligent, mature, focused and disciplined the student is. It goes beyond simply knowing that the student is bright. It can encapsulate the student’s character, personality and demeanor in just a few words. It can also be a way of knowing how the student acts and thinks in everyday situations.

Penning down this article surely drills down my memory lanes.

As a child I was always into daydreaming, the atmosphere around me gradually guided me to the deepest intricacies of life. I was nicknamed ‘Introvert’, and used to be the sorts who seldom had friends. One fine day my father realized that I was going nowhere; a psychologist was consulted to analyze the scriptures embedded on my mind. It worked and I came out of the shell, steadily leaning forward to be a part of the competitive world. I always owe the transformation to my father who, besides being from a middle income background supported me well. Meanwhile I developed an inclination towards the human sciences and research, and knew it was the one.
B.Tech in Biotechnology I was surely heading the right way, a perfect stepping stone to the career. The subjects envisaged a vast and immense potential of the field contemplating its “Futuristic Technology” tag. Biotechnology as a field is sectioned into various subparts including Biochemical Engineering, Biostatistics, Animal and Plant Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, Bioinformatics etc. Although never being the geeky bookworm type, I still managed to secure high grades in the engineering exams. Now here I am writing “College Admission Essays”, things now are presumably more definite and clear from the career perspective.
The next step undoubtedly is pursuing post graduation in research studies to further dwell down the subject. I’ve always been fascinated by the success stories of the legends, and really eager to script one for myself. The path towards the ultimate achievement however may not be a cakewalk, but does anything in life come that easy? The answer is no!
The combination of life sciences with technology for human welfare is the sole initiative of biotechnology, and a disciple never differs from its deity. Being an altruist, harnessing the technology’s human beneficiating potential has always been the prime concern. Following a modular loom enables me to identify the bigger problem into several smaller ones which can be easily decoded; it further strengthens the prospects of a dedicated and committed approach. There is no shortcut to success and no substitute to hard work, looking forward to a visionary and conducive environment that would realize and raise my intrigued potentials. Being a voracious reader and a thinker, writing always seemed to be appealing. It gives me immense satisfaction, scribbling down a portrait of my life enumerating” College Admission Essays”.
On the higher note I would like to mention that there’s nothing called “IMPOSSIBLE”, if you are determined enough. The road to success surely is pretty rough and tangled but when you conquer the final destination you realize, the struggle was worth it.

Satisfied with your grades?

Turned out a fantastic performance on your SAT? Believe that you have got very good letters of recommendation for your college applications? Does that make you ready to convince the admission board that you are what they are looking for?
Not yet. The college admission essay is the final frontier that you need to negotiate before your chosen college sends you that interview letter.
Why is the essay important?
College admission essays are crucial in deciding the fate of your application. A good essay can give you an edge over someone with a similar academic background and grades. It may convince the College Board to give you a chance even if your grades are not as high as they would like them to be.
A college admission essay is a declaration of who you are, your belief system and where you want to be. These are details that cannot be provided by your test scores or recommendation letters. It must aim to tell the reader not only why you want to study in that college but also how you can contribute to the college by your presence there.
What you need to remember while writing the essay
A college admission essay cannot be dashed off in an hour or even a day. Give yourself enough time to write it so that the audience is able to hear your voice clearly.
Make a rough outline of what you want to say before writing the essay.
Discuss your choices with others – it will help you communicate your ideas better in the essay.
Know that there is no right or wrong opinion – focus instead on making your college admission essay unique and good reading.
Provide information that is relevant to the essay question which will help the college decide if you match their requirements.
Be specific throughout the essay. Illustrate your ideas with events or experiences from your own life.
Follow the word limit strictly.
Use words that you commonly use. Trying to impress the examiner with big words taken from the dictionary may backfire, making your essay seem stilted and difficult to read.
Watch the tone in your college admission essay. Making the essay a catalog of your achievements will make it uninteresting to the examiner. Instead, give an overall picture of the person you are, while always keeping the exact essay question in focus.
Revise and rewrite till you are satisfied that your college admission essay reflects what you want to say. Take a break before each revision, if you can. A break will give you a fresh perspective on the essay.
Proofread the final version when you are done. Look for spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes and any contradictions in the content.
Once you are finished, get a family member or a teacher to read the essay. If they suggest ways to improve it, accept the ideas that appear right to you.
Now go crack that college admission essay. Good luck!

Do’s and Don’ts

Winning College Admission Essays – Do they come from Super humans?

As a high school senior, you probably already have your eyes set on the college/s you wish to join in future for your higher studies. By the time you’re out of school, you’ve heard bits about the application process and its nightmare (as many would call it), ‘the college admission essay’. As soon as the application packs arrive, the challenge of writing an excellent and convincing essay confronts you. Harder the college/university to get into, greater is the pressure to submit a winning essay. With the competition levels only going higher up the ladder each year, the number of students equalling your study grades or scores will never come down. This is exactly when a college admission essay can do the job of giving you an edge over others. College admission essays are totally unique to you, highlighting your life, your richest life experiences and the strongest aspects of your character, all put together to present ‘you’ as someone who has some value to offer to the college.

So, how do you get it right? What makes it work? And more importantly what does not? Originality. Your essay must be original and genuine but this isn’t hard to achieve. If you want to create an original and winning essay, all you have to do, while writing, is to be your own best self. I believe that every person has at least one strong aspect to his character; all you have to do is realize what it is or has been for you in your life. More often than not, this strength is easily identifiable if you take a look at your life’s strongest moments. It can be an achievement, an emotion, or even a moment of gratification or realization which helped you grow in life. Also, remember that the purpose of the essay is to highlight your strengths as a potential student, so it is perfectly fine to boast as much about your achievements as you can.

Two most important elements that college admission essays must reflect are your energy and motivation. Write these words down and pin them on a wall if you have to, to keep reminding you of them throughout the writing process. Make your essay stand out by making it interesting. The best way to do that is to focus your essay on an actual event or create a picture of a real moment in your life. In this way, the reader can actually relate the essay to you and find it original and much more engaging. A story always keeps a reader engaged so you might as well tell one.

Now, very shortly, what college admission essays must never have are passive tones, lack of energy and unnecessary wordiness as this can make an essay lose spontaneity as well as reader’s interest. Be natural in your tone but avoid use of slangs at all costs. Writing a college admission essay neither requires you to be a superhuman, nor to lie about yourself to be successful. It is, in fact, the best practice for you to realize your best self and to present yourself as a success-driven candidate based on your real strengths.

HE WOULD ALWAYS BRING SOME TOKEN FROM THE LAND HE WAS ASSIGNED AT AND TALK ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCES WITH CULTURES AND TRADITIONS OF THE PEOPLE FROM THE FOREIGN LANDS. HE SEEMED TO KNOW EVERYTHING. COMPOSITION OF

Due to the overwhelming number of people who are able and willing to join college education, various means have been devised whereby not just anyone can be admitted, but the interested parties have to prove their way in. Apart from the usual minimum qualifications, it has become a trend nowadays that one is required to write an essay before being considered for admission. This has been the case since colleges may not be able to accommodate all who are willing to join and it helps to eliminate some who don’t qualify, plus it helps the college administration paint a rough picture of the persons they are admitting.
This being so, it’s up to the applicant to standout and get an easy way in by composing a brilliant college admission essay such that the professors will be patting your back on your way in! The tricky part and generally what gives many people headaches has to be the choice of topic. Do you tell them about yourself, past experiences, future ambitions, sports, the weather? As there’s usually no limitation on choice of topic and this done intentionally so as to test how exceptional one is in figuring out what to put in your essay. .
Well, it has to be obvious that whichever topic one chooses for the essay, it has to concern you in one way or another as this is what they use to determine picking one applicant from another as it helps to differentiate you and they get to know you in person.
Look at the college admission essay as the adverts marketers use to help increase sales of their products and just like they do, ensuring the advert nears perfection to convince the consumers to buy the product without thinking twice, it has to be the same case here, give yourself strengths and great abilities but at the same time it has to be realistic, not combining a nuclear scientist, veterinary doctor and a chef’s skills all in one!
Most importantly, let the college admission essay give a positive impression right from the first paragraph as this gives the reader a glimpse of what to expect in the other paragraphs. Also, I would suggest the use of simple plain English, no need to use your thesaurus for this.
Like the first paragraph, have the same or even better brilliance in the conclusion. Borrow a leaf from lawyers who have closings to impress and convince the jury, conclude brilliantly to get your admission.

Sample tips for perfecting College Admission Essays

• Touch on role models having influence on you and even list their positive traits that you lean on from time to time.
• Reflect on your childhood, events of growth and probable big steps you may have experienced.
• Extensive research has proven to be quite useful as you get to learn from what others have done and choose to either improve on it or do it differently.
• Always ask for help or give the essay to someone else to read it before presenting it.

Aimed with all these “tools for brilliant essay writing”, surely a great college admission essay essay should come out of you. Never consider the essay as a headache but rather have fun selling yourself in words or even better, see it as though you are writing the script to your own personal movie and the entry into college as your movie finally getting its break into the big screens!

Title 2: College Admission Essays – Get them Right and Catapult Your Way into College

An orchestra would be dull if every member played the same instrument. It is a medley of tones and scales that blend together seamless to produce the most soul stirring music. Think of the poor Dean of Admissions, poring over prospective students’ college admission essays into the wee hours of the morning. His duty is to assess, on a caffeine high, who he will admit and whom he won’t. Lost in a swarm of familiar sentences repeated over and over again in multiple essays what he wouldn’t give for a piece of fresh writing - original and heart felt, compelling and conclusive, ambitious and appealing! Is that piece of writing going to be YOUR college admission essay? Sure it can. All it takes is packing every iota of ambition, positivity and honesty you have into those vital 1000 words to convince of your reader of your individuality.

The key to a good college admission essay begins with the realization that the writing process is meant to be an exercise in introspection and an opportunity to allow your deepest passions to surface. Your essay is, along with your grades, probably the single most crucial factor in determining your award of a scholarship. Rather than a boring or a daunting task it should be viewed as a fun activity. Remember, the journey is just as important as the destination. Many students find that the creative process of penning their college admission essay leads to an enhanced sense of self worth with their goals being reinforced subconsciously as they spell them out.

Sadly, many students tend to ruin their chances by digging into the thesaurus for laudatory adjectives to describe themselves and their previous achievements. They fail to understand that what the admission officers are actually looking for are examples of real life situations where the candidate has proved his mettle. A clear definition of your ambition in your college admission essay and an explanation of how your proposed course of study will help you get closer to realizing it will hold you in good stead. Hence, make every effort to convince them otherwise by enumerating your hobbies and participation in extra curricular activities. Different colleges have different essay requirements so it will be helpful to check whether your chosen college requires you to answer specific questions, or whether a general essay should suffice.
